The Prep children went on an excursion to DFES (Department of Fire and Emergency Services) in Perth city last week.

The guides introduced the children to the different emergency workers in the community: Fire fighter, Bush fire fighter, State Emergency Service volunteer and the Marine Rescue Services. Each of these workers wear a different uniform and have different specialised equipment to assist them with their jobs.

The children experienced a storm scenario in a house and outdoors. They learned about fire safety and the protocols to follow in case of a fire.

The most important information to recall is in an emergency to dial 000 and remember your address.
