As well as always having a kind, radiant smile, Maya is a growing into a mature, responsible and values-driven young lady. A keen basketballer, Maya follows the women’s NBA teams, cheering on their contribution to our sporting world.  

Maya is a much-admired big sister who loves playing with her younger siblings and is also a kind and caring friend. Her goals are to work hard and do well in school so that she can one day become a lawyer! She is enjoying Carmel High School, especially HASS with Rasto and English with our new Mr O’Brien.   

For her Bat Mitzvah, Maya celebrated a meaningful, musical Havdalah ceremony at Chabad Noranda with her family and friends followed by fun party bus. Her Dvar Torah focused on the importance of refraining from gossip and lashon hara; a vitally important message for us all.
